MEMPHIS--The Lady Hawks dropped their first outing of 2014, 74-63, as they travelled to Memphis, Tenn. to take on the Lady Bucs of Christian Brothers Saturday afternoon.
With the loss Shorter moves to 4-6 on the season, and 202 in Gulf South Conference play.
The Lady Hawks were led by
Lynette Harris; who turned in a season high 24 points to lead all scorers.
Kristin Nash added 13, and
Karisma Boykin just missed a double-double with 9 points and 11 rebounds.
Shorter took an early lead, which they maintained through much of the first half. However, with 9:22 to play in the opening frame, CBU's Ashley Schaffer connected on a layup to give the Lady Bucs a lead they wouldn't give up.
The Lady Hawks will be back in action Monday afternoon as they continue the road trip at Delta State. Tipoff is set for 3:00pm eastern.
