Box Score Jackson, Tenn.--For the second time in as many games the Hawks needed overtime to decide a winner, this time however didn't go Shorter's way as they were handed an 83-82 defeat at Union Thursday night.
The loss drops the Hawks to 8-9 on the season, and 5-6 in the Gulf South Conference. Union improves to 10-7 overall and 6-5 in conference play.

In the overtime period, the Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead on a layup and free throw from Roberts. The Hawks fought back, and on a couple of occasions were able to cut the lead to one, but never could net the go ahead, giving Union the 83-82 victory.
Shorter will be back in action Saturday as they travel to North Alabama to take on the Lions. Game time is set for 4pm eastern. The Hawks will return home Thursday as Christian Brothers visits the Winthrop-King Centre for an 8pm tip.Â
