Box Score By Karen Allen

Cleveland, Tenn.--
As has been the case in the past, the Hawks were prepared for a tough test in the Flames. And, this year's game did not disappoint, needing overtime to crown a winner, with Shorter coming out on top, 93-85.

The win improves Shorter to 8-8 on the season and 5-5 in the GSC. While, Lee moves to 7-9 overall, and 3-7 in conference play.

Travis Jones had a career night for the Hawks, scoring 25 points to lead all scorers. Jordan Jacks recorded his nine double-double of the season with 23 points and 15 rebounds. Dedric Ware added 21 points for Shorter, all coming after halftime.

The game was a see-saw affair that saw 10 tie scores and 9 lead changes. The Hawks trailed 38-31 at the half, but fought back in the second frame to force the extra period.

Shorter took the lead with 8:15 to play on a three pointer from Kurtis Woods. But, Lee answered and tied the game five minutes later, 67-67. Through the final three minutes of the game the teams matched each other point for point and ended regulation tied 75-75.

The overtime period, the first for Shorter this year, was just what the Hawks needed. Scoring first, Shorter never trailed during the frame and sealed the win 93-85.

The Hawks will be back in action Thursday evening from Jackson, Tenn. as they take on Union University for the second time this season. During the first meeting, the Bulldogs topped Shorter, 91-85. Tipoff is set for 9PM eastern.
