Livingston, Ala.--The Lady Hawks dropped a 58-53 decision to West Alabama Saturday afternoon to give the Tigers their first conference win of the season.
The loss moved Shorter to 4-9 on the season and 2-5 in conference play, while West Alabama improved to 4-9 overall and 1-6 in the Gulf South.
Leading at the intermission, 24-20, the Lady Hawks were poised to capture their fifth win of the season, however, West Alabama netted the go ahead with 12:38 to play and didn't look back. During the frame, the Tigers outscored the Lady Hawks 38-29 en route of the win.
Quintinette Odom and Shameika Hart led the second half charge for West Alabama, as both scored 11 points during the frame. Odom finished with a game high 18 points.

Lynette Harris each recorded 9 points for Shorter.
The Lady Hawks will be back in action Thursday, January 16, as West Florida visits the Winthrop-King Centre. Game time is set for 6:00pm.Â
