ROME--Shorter women's soccer fell to North Alabama at home Thursday afternoon, by a 3-0 margin.
The loss drops the Lady Hawks to 5-10 on the season, and 2-6 in Gulf South play.
North Alabama did all the scoring in the first half, as Ellis Hillman, Abby Fannin, and Susan Lang found the back of the net for the Lions. Chloe Richards added the assist on two of the goals.
Despite being outshot 22-15, Shorter had many opportunities to score as
Helena Farinha took six shots,
Kelli Davis chipped in with three, and
Aline Tamiosso and
Cintia Lamas each added two.
Shorter goalkeeper,
Taylor Hays, made seven saves on ten shots faced over the ninety minutes. Rachel Beninati made nine saves for the Lions.
The Lady Hawks will be back in action Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm from Ben Brady Field as they play host to fellow GSC provisional member, Union University. Sunday will also serve as Senior Day, as nine Lady Hawk seniors will be honored for their service to the women's soccer program over the years.
