Tanequa Whitman led Shorter University to a perfect 4-0 week with wins over the University of West Alabama, Columbus State University, the University of West Georgia, and Valdosta State University. The wins moved Shorter past West Georgia and Valdosta State into 3rd place in the Gulf South Conference standings. Tanequa, a senior 3-year starter at libero, had perhaps the best week of her career. For the week, she had 67 digs (4.8 digs per set), 15 aces (1.07 aces per set), only 3 serving errors on 87 service attempts (96.6% serve percentage), and passed 74 serves with only 1 receiving error (98.6% serve-receive percentage). Tanequa’s average pass was an amazing 2.64 on the widely-used 3-point grading scale. In the big wins over West Georgia and Valdosta State, Tanequa attempted 41 serves with no errors and 7 aces, passes 40 serves with no receiving errors, and contributed 33 digs.
