Taylor Watson

Coach Watson played her first two years at Lamar Community College an NJCAA D1 JuCo in Lamar CO. Then continued playing her last two years at Blue Mountain Christian University an NAIA University in Blue Mountain, MS. Taylor also served as a Student Assistant at BMCU earning an SSAC Conference Championship and attending NAIA Nationals for the first time in program history.
 

Watson graduated in the Spring of 2022 from BMCU with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology and went on to earn her master's in business administration (MBA) with a concentration in Sports Management from Shorter University in Spring 2024. Coach Watson is going into her fourth season with the Hawks. Watson has served as a graduate assistant (2022) and first assistant and Inaugural Head Developmental Coach (2023) before taking her post as the Head Coach in the Spring of 2024.
 

In Watson’s first season as the head coach with the Hawks she led them to a huge turnaround (17-14) leading the Hawks to an 11 game increase in overall wins. Watson led the Hawks to the best record since 2021 navigating the team to the second round of conference tournament for the first time since 2021. This success included an (11-7) record in the inaugural season with Conference Carolinas, which was the most conference wins since 2017. As well as a (7-3) home record which was the most home wins since 2017.
 

Watson guided one third team all-conference Libero (2024) which was the first player to receive all-conference accolades since 2021. In 2024 Watson coached (6) Barnes & Noble College Fall Academic All-Conference selections and (17) Southern Recognition Presidential Honor Roll Athletes.
 

Coach Watson originally from Arvada, CO now resides in Rome, GA and is married to her husband Rechase’a Watson. Coach Watson serves the Rome volleyball community in her free time as the club director of Tsunami Rome Volleyball
