Originally from Reno, Nevada, Drew Rippingham enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Shorter University men's basketball program.
Prior to joining the Hawks, Rippingham spent the 2025-26 season at Dickinson State University, where he served as a graduate assistant and head coach of the junior varsity program. He guided the JV team to a 9-8 record while assisting with recruiting, scouting and game preparation, player development, film breakdown, practice planning, academic monitoring and the day-to-day operations of the program.
Before Dickinson State, Rippingham spent three seasons with the men's basketball program at Western Oregon University, first as a student assistant before transitioning into a volunteer assistant coaching role. During his time with the Wolves, he was involved in player development, scouting, film analysis, recruiting, practice preparation and camps.
Rippingham played collegiate basketball at Umpqua Community College, Lassen Community College and Western Oregon University. While at Lassen, he earned Second Team All-Conference honors after averaging 11 points per game and shooting 42 percent from three-point range. He finished his playing career at Western Oregon before transitioning into coaching.
Rippingham earned his bachelor's degree in communications from Western Oregon University and is currently pursuing a Master of Sport Administration in Athletic Leadership from Dickinson State University.
