Sydney Jones enters her first season as the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Shorter University.
 

A native of Memphis, Tennessee Jones returns to Shorter after an extensive playing career.  She spent three years as starting goalie (2019, 2023–24) for the Hawks and spent one season as an attacker in 2022. Jones served as team captain from 2022-24 and was named MVP during the 2024 season. 
 

Jones holds multiple program records, including most saves in a game (21) and is the all-time leader in saves in program history. She graduated from Shorter in 2024 with a BBA in Sports Management. 
 

Following her playing career, Jones quickly built an extensive coaching résumé at the high school, club, and collegiate levels. Most recently, she served as an assistant coach at Rhodes College from August 2024 through January 2026. Her coaching experience also includes roles at the high school level as well as club experience. Jones also served as an intern with Northwestern Lacrosse from 2020-2021.
