Abby McAninch is entering her second year as the Hawks Women’s Lacrosse Head Coach. She holds an undergraduate degree in Health and Physical Education with a minor in Sports Science and Coaching from Appalachian State University. Currently, she is advancing her expertise by pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Management.
Before joining Shorter University, McAninch honed her coaching skills at the high school level, leading lacrosse teams for four years, as well as coaching field hockey and swimming for one year each. Her extensive background in various sports demonstrates her versatility and commitment to fostering athletic excellence and personal growth among her athletes.
A former collegiate athlete herself, McAninch played lacrosse at Mars Hill University, where she developed a deep understanding and love for the game. Her firsthand experience as a player and coach equips her with the knowledge and insights necessary to lead and inspire the Shorter University women's lacrosse team.
