Coach Long is currently in his third year as the Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach at Shorter University. Since arriving, both programs have 3 Team wins, 6 Team Runner-ups, 3 Individual wins, and 12 All-Tournament finishes collectively. Coach Long recently married Hanna Long and is enjoying life in Georgia!
Originally from Humboldt, Tennessee Coach Long attended Humboldt High School. He enrolled at Lambuth University for two years, then earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management (Marketing) at Union University which also is in Tennessee. He continued at Union University earning a Master of Arts in Education (Sports Leadership).
Coach Long came to Shorter University to Coach because Shorter was the best place for him to show what he believed in. Putting God first in our lives is his philosophy and says that working in Rome Georgia and the NCAA Division 2 program are all part of the reasons that drew him to Shorter University.
Coach Longs favorite sports memory was when he made hole-in-ones at ages 8 and 12. He was also a medalist at the Jr. Am Qualifier in Tennessee with a score of 64 (-6), as well as being a winner of a college event.
