DAHLONEGA, Ga.- The Shorter Softball team fell to #5 North Georgia in a doubleheader series Tuesday afternoon, dropping game one 10-0 before falling in game two in a 12-0 defeat. The loss drops the Hawks to 11-26 overall on the season.
GAME ONE
The Hawks struggled to contain the Nighthawks early, as they allowed four runs in the opening frame. Â Shorter continued to fight hard, but could not find home plate. North Georgia continued to add on to their total, scoring six more runs as the Hawks fell in a 10-0 defeat in the first game of the afternoon.Â
GAME TWO
The Hawks had a solid start in the second game of the afternoon, as they kept the Nighthawks at bay, only allowing one run in two innings. Unfortunately, the Nighthawks opened the floodgates, pouring in 11 runs across the third and fourth innings, making the deficit too large for Shorter to make a push, as they fell in a 12-0 defeat.Â
UP NEXT
The Hawks will continue on the road as they face off against conference opponent Southern Wesleyan at 2:00 and 4:00 pm for a weekend doubleheader this Saturday.
