Hawks Beat the Lions
Rome, GA. – The Shorter Women's Lacrosse team went up against the Lions from Emmanuel College at home on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks ended up winning a close game 15-13 after finishing the first half on a level playing field at 8-8.

SUMMARY:
In the first quarter, both teams came out strong scoring 6 goals apiece. Freshman
Kaitlyn Peppers got the first goal of the game for the Hawks, other goals came from
Olivia Contento,
Olivia Masters, and
Jazzelle Ware. The second quarter saw strong defense from both sides with13 turnovers and each team only scoring 2 goals. The Lady Hawks went into halftime level with the Lions with everything still to play for at 8-8.
The Lady Hawks came out after halftime with great fighting spirit which led them to score 3 unanswered goals. This combined with another goal from
Olivia Contento saw them outscore the Lions in the third quarter. The final quarter was once again an even playing field with both teams scoring 3 goals. The final goal came from
Kaitlyn Peppers who sealed the win.
