ROME -- The Hawks fell to Christian Brothers, 5-4, Saturday from the Walt Attaway Tennis Center.
With the loss, Shorter moves to 1-4 on the season and 0-2 in the Gulf South Conference; while the Bucs improve to 3-9 overall and 1-4 in conference play.
The Hawks trailed, 2-1, after doubles earning a win at number one as
Jose Moreno-Manzano and
Gregoire Vincent tallied an 8-4 victory. While, in singles, Shorter earned wins at number one, two and four. Moreno-Manzano and Vincent each moved to 4-1 on the year with 6-1, 6-0 and 7-5, 6-4 wins, respectively at one and four. While,
Talha Zubair earned a 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 win at number two.
The Hawks will be back in action against longtime rival, Lee University, Wednesday, February 28, at 2:00pm.
