Lamar Wright, a three-time All-GIAC and District 25 selection in baseball, holds Shorter's all-time career wins mark with 45 while he lost just eight games during his career.
Wright, a two-time All-Area 5 pick, posted 500 career strikeouts to lead all Shorter players and led the NAIA with 172 strikeouts in 1974, the same season that he was honored as an NAIA All-American.
Wright's teams won the 1971, 1973 and 1974 conference championships and the 1974 District 25 title. After the conclusion of his Shorter career, Wright was drafted by the California Angels and ultimately reached the AAA level.
