Earlier this month he played in the Tropic Bowl All-Star Game in Miami playing with and against NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBC) standouts, and in December took part in the National Bowl All-Star Game in Miami that featured the top FCS, Division II and III players and was named his team's Defensive MVP.

A two-time All-Gulf South Conference First Team pick, Shaw was named the league's 2014 Defensive Player of the Year, wound up recognition on six 2014 All-America teams and prior to the start of the 2015 campaign was named to five Preseason All-American lists.

Shaw ended his career as the program's third all-time leading tackler with 245 stops; is third in career interceptions (11); holds the record for most interceptions in a season (8 in 2014); and the record for the most interceptions in a in a game when he stepped in front of three passes against Mars Hill in 2014 with one returned for a record-tying 100-yard touchdown.

The Hawks' leading tackler for the last two years, Shaw closed out his career as the Gulf South Conference's third-leading tackler averaging 8.7 stops, recording 50 solo tackles and 37 assists. He also had an interception and returned a fumble 61 yards for a touchdown.

Shaw is one of three Gulf South Conference players to be D2football.com First Team picks as West Georgia offensive lineman Dominique Robertson and West Alabama returner Tyreek Hill were named.
