Jeremy Edgerson, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, is in his
second year as an athletic training graduate assistant after
graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from
Lindenwood University in 2011. Edgerson has already compiled quite
the resume keeping the Hawks and Lady Hawks healthy. In January
2012, Edgerson was honored with the first-ever “J. Scott Byrd
Award for Athletic Training Excellence.” Byrd has been quoted
saying, “In the 5 years of having a track meets we have never
had someone that thorough and organized” a very high remark
from a three-time NAIA Track & Field Coach of the Year.
Edgerson was also part of the Shorter University Track & Field
National Championship team in 2012, which earned its second
national title.
Edgerson will serve as Assistant Football Athletic Trainer,
alongside Head Athletic Trainer, Phillip Hardy, to keep the Hawks
healthy as they take on one of the toughest Football schedules in
school history. Edgerson will also work with the Shorter University
Men’s Lacrosse and Track & Field teams, in addition to
being the Senior Athletic Training Graduate Assistant.
Prior to arriving on “The Hill,” Edgerson worked
for the St. Charles County Cyclones, a semi-professional Football
team and at St. Charles Sports & Physical Therapy as a Physical
Therapy Tech and Safety Officer. When not in the athletic training
room or on the field, Edgerson enjoys golfing, adventure racing,
and rollerblading in the sunset. Edgerson will graduate with a
Masters of Arts in Leadership from Shorter University in May
2013.
